The Furry Folk of Cedarbrook Lane

This space will contain a continuously developing story about the furry folk of Cedarbrook Lane.  These creatures have been many and varied, mostly cats but also dogs, and occasionally a few skunks and opossums.  I have learned that they are much more than what they seem to be.  I will tell about my experiences with these wondrous folk, relate my impressions of past events with them and sometimes share details about my journeys into enchanted places..v

Chapter one of The Furry Folk of Cedarbrook Lane

As a child I lived in a yellow brick house situated in a line of houses whose front yards opened to large formal gardens. These were interesting places to explore. When I wandered too far my dog Spot would find me, pull on my dress, and lead me home. One day a box of kittens was left on my front porch.  A few years later we moved but the remembrance of cats stayed with me. I had no more pets until after marriage, but they were dogs.  The ones that were lost, abandoned, hurt, would find us or we would encounter them. My daughter Debby who was retarded loved them all and helped care for them. They became her own special world.

The next cat came from my mother-in-law’s yard.  She too fed cats and felt compassion for hungry and homeless animals.  This was her redeeming quality. There are poems that teach without being obvious and others that paint pictures with words

Chapter five of The Furry Folk of Cedarbrook Lane

We are surrounded by angels, some people being more aware of their presence than others.  Take a few moments to think about this.  How do you visualize them?  Are they like the majestic winged beings painted by the great masters?  Do you see them as portrayed in the artistry of stained glass windows?  Maybe you are more familiar with representations of everyday angels who can be found everywhere, no doubt to remind us that their love and guidance are always available.
